The perfect outfit doesn’t have to be a hassle to find. Wednesday Wear is our biweekly segment featuring popular clothing trends and fashion pieces curated by our staff, so you can find statement pieces that you like without going far.
Each week’s update includes a “Highlight of the Week” showcasing student outfits around the school that catch our eye. Be on the lookout for us, and we might feature you and your piece next. Message us to nominate one of your friends to be next week’s highlight.

Our first hat today is the Arbor Cap by Axis-Outdoor. It is a double-knit beanie with a dense forest design, as well as orange and yellow hills in the background, highlighting the dissolving trees that meld into the top of the beanie. It comes in many colors, so if you aren’t into the oranges, there’s a blue variation called Glacier, as well as a beige and brown version called Driftwood. In addition, they also come with a congruent section at the bottom of the hat that highlights the company’s name: Axis. Right now, they go for $34 and can add a 10% discount if you sign up. If you’re interested, it seems like a great piece to tighten your outfits and keep your ears warm during the winter.

Next, we have the Cotton Twill Army Cap by Kangol. It is a classic cadet or military cap made out of cotton with the Kangol name embroidered on the front. It sits pretty nicely on the head, with the brim coming to slightly below eyebrow level, while still covering the back of the head. It also comes with small embroidered grommets on the side of the hat and a hidden pocket inside the brim of the hat. I don’t know what you could fit there: maybe a card or a pencil, but still a cool feature. For the price of $40, with the addition of different colors and different sizes, this hat is great to have a stylish and unique sunshade.

Finally, we have the ZERO GRAVITY METAL CAP DOG EAR by Zero-gravity. It features a New York Yankees classic ball cap, with the addition of wool felt ears attached to the sides for warmth, including an embroidered MLB logo. It also comes with metallic inspirations, the biggest being the melted take on the actual New York Yankees logo, spikes along the brim, and most prominently, the giant skeletal hands on the bottom of the ears. Also, this hat has little patterned gems all over, adding to the eye-catching ability of the hat. This hat, though a bit costly, is definitely worth the price. It is handmade and the company responds to their Instagram messages really quickly if there is anything wrong. If you like what you see, then maybe make it a done deal and order one.
Our Highlight of this Week is Thomas Downey, or, as some might know him, the senior boy voted “Best Dressed” in the senior superlatives. He has great style, and this outfit was no exception. We caught him wearing these fabulous shoes: the Doc Martens Arcadia Leather Tassel Loafers. These are the Cherry Red Arcadia color, and it seems that the more you wear them, the more they show the red, cherry color, making a beautiful contrast to the brown leather they start off as. On today’s fashion scene, pops of color are a big part of outfits. This could mean a red sole of a shoe, colored gloves, or cherry loafers. They are also Doc Martens, so they will be pretty comfortable and add at least an inch or two to your height. If you’re looking for something like this, it’s a really good option for a piece with little color. In addition, they change over time, making none of your outfits with them ever the same.
