The perfect outfit doesn’t have to be a hassle to find. Wednesday Wear is our weekly segment featuring popular clothing trends and fashion pieces curated by our staff, so you can find statement pieces that you like without going far.
Each week’s update will include a “Highlight of the Week” showcasing student outfits around the school that catch our eye. Be on the lookout for us, and we might feature you and your piece next. Message us to nominate one of your friends to be next week’s highlight.
First, this week we have the Grow From It Signet by Thryfty. It is a bigger ring that comes in silver and gold and looks great with any outfit. It has little designs all over, as well as some text in a bubble letter kind of font, like you might see in graffiti. The faces are mostly green but have inlaid designs of a skull and the lettering. It symbolizes growth throughout life. The message tells that story with the design on the side revealing a motif for growth. This ring has been on my buy-list for a while, and I’ve been meaning to buy it, but the company also has many other products, from rings to chains to buttons. All of their metal is recycled and very durable for a pretty good price.
Next, we have the Fleur de Paris Jersey Mauve by Neptunz. It features a regular pink and blue jersey, but with the addition of embroidery all around the shirt. It also features a crop, like most shirts will have today, where it falls a little past the waistline. More importantly, though, the embroidery includes flowers on the sleeves, huge embroidered numbers on the back, and intricate designs throughout. It is a great choice as a statement piece. There is just as much to it as the ring and it says so much with only embroidery. But, if the colors aren’t to your liking, they also have a blue jersey, along with many other products with that same aesthetic.
Then we have the WHITE WAR THERMAL by Flowar. It is a heavy white thermal with intricate and vintage-looking war designs on the front and the sleeves. It also includes the classic thermal fabric and would look great as a statement piece for the colder weather or just as an undershirt for a short-sleeved shirt if that is your aesthetic. Nevertheless, it is a great-looking piece. However, if you were looking for a darker thermal, it also comes in black with the same design. They also have pieces with more intricate or bigger designs, as well as hoodies and sweaters. No matter what, they have something for any outfit you want to throw on as the temperatures drop.
Last but definitely not least, we have the Highlight of the Week. This week, we found Joseph Gentry wearing his fantastic suits. You have probably seen him wearing one of these outfits lately, paired with his cane and his pocket watch. For his highlight, he wanted us to talk about his pocket watch. It is the Antique Bronze Octagon Hollow Pendant Pocket Clock by Shuhang. It includes an older look, a thrifted or antique style, with the addition of Roman Numerals and many internal details revealed from a hollowed out center on the outside. On the inside, intricate hands and the gears of the pocket watch as well as a hinged top that includes more roman numerals are revealed, so you can see what time it is without opening it. The watch is also equipped with a chain and a clip for everyday use, and just looks so great on-theme with Joseph’s suits.
